GuideAdding Temu UK

How to sell on Temu UK when you already sell on Amazon or eBay

For UK sellers with live listings on Amazon, eBay or Shopify. This is the order to add Temu in, and which parts of your current listings carry straight over.

You have the listings.Temu wants them reshaped.

Short answer

A UK business can sell on Temu. You apply through Temu's own seller site and Temu reviews every application. After that you set up shipping templates in Seller Center, load your products with Temu's upload template for each category, write titles that work in the first 80 characters, and keep your base price below a recommended retail price you can evidence.

What you already have

If you sell on Amazon, eBay or your own Shopify store, you already have products, photos, descriptions, prices and a dispatch routine. Temu asks for the same information in a different shape. Most of the work is reformatting.

The order matters, because some steps depend on earlier ones. A listing has to point at a shipping template, so the shipping template has to exist first. The sections below follow the order that avoids doing anything twice.

Our main guide to selling on Temu UK covers the same ground for any seller. This post is the version for people who have listings elsewhere and want to reuse them.

Register, then set up shipping

Registration for UK sellers runs through Temu's own seller site, and Temu reviews every application. You can register through Seller Spring's invitation link. It costs nothing and adds set-up help from our team. Temu still makes the decision, and the account is yours. Seller Spring is an independent company and is not part of Temu.

UK local sellers ship their own orders. Postage, carriers and shipping templates are set up in Temu Seller Center before your first listing goes live, so do this as soon as the account is open.

Check your dispatch routine before you list. If you currently work to a longer window on some products, settle how you will handle those first.

Turn your listings into Temu template files

Temu wants its own upload template for each category, so an Amazon or eBay file cannot go straight in. Each column in your export has to end up in the matching field of that template.

Each category also asks for its own product details, and this is where a marketplace export tends to run short.

Amazon exports often have no photo links

Amazon does not return image links in a listing export, so the image columns often come out blank. Plan to pull your photos from somewhere else, such as your own site or your original image files.

You can do all of this by hand in a spreadsheet. Upload does it for you. It takes an Amazon, eBay or Shopify export, turns it into Temu upload files category by category, and shows what each listing is missing before you submit anything. To see the gaps without signing up, drop an Amazon or eBay export into the free file check. It runs in your browser and shows what Temu would reject.

Fix the titles for the first 80 characters

Only about 80 characters of a Temu title show in search results. Temu search reads the title and the images. So the first 80 characters have to say what the product is, in the words a buyer would type.

Titles written for another marketplace were built around a different limit. Read each one as a Temu shopper would see it, cut off at around 80 characters. If the brand name and a model code fill that space and the product type comes later, rewrite it.

Use the rest of the title for relevant size, material, colour and compatibility details.

Titled scores a Temu title and rewrites the weak ones. You get a few free checks without an account, which is enough to test your best sellers.

Set your prices

Temu shows you its own payment terms and reports in Seller Center, so check what you will receive there before you set prices. Work out your margin from your landed cost and postage, the same way you would for any channel.

Keep your base price below a recommended retail price you can evidence. If you sell zero-rated goods such as children's clothes or books next to standard-rated ones, check the VAT rate on each product before you upload.

Payouts, fees and VAT

Temu publishes no UK seller fee page that we could find when we checked on 4 October 2026. Your terms are shown in Seller Center, and each payments report shows what you were charged. Our guide to Temu seller fees explains where to look and why the figures quoted online disagree.

For comparison, the channels you already use do publish their rates. Amazon UK says most referral fees are between 8% and 15%. eBay UK charges business sellers a final value fee of 10.9% on Toys & Games and 11.9% on Clothes, Shoes & Accessories, plus a per-order fee. Source: our UK marketplace fee data, checked 4 October 2026. Have those numbers to hand when you read your Temu terms.

Temu's payments report includes pricing adjustments and platform subsidies, which makes it hard to see what you kept. Settled turns one Temu payments report into the figures for the nine VAT return boxes, with import files for Xero, QuickBooks and Sage 50. It prepares the figures. Filing stays with you or your accountant.

On VAT, the registration rule does not change because you have added a marketplace. You must register if your taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000, or you expect it to in the next 30 days. If Temu sales take you close to that line, keep a running total across all your channels. Source: our UK VAT data for marketplace sellers, from gov.uk, checked 4 October 2026.

You may have read that the marketplace accounts for the VAT. Gov.uk ties that rule to sellers who are not established in the UK. If your business is based here, ask your accountant how your Temu sales should be treated before you assume anything.

Questions

Can I sell on Temu from the UK?

Yes. UK sellers apply through Temu's own seller site and Temu reviews every application. Once approved, UK local sellers ship their own orders, with postage, carriers and shipping templates set up in Temu Seller Center before the first listing goes live.

Can I upload my Amazon or eBay file straight to Temu?

No. Temu wants its own upload template for each category, and each category asks for its own product details. Your export has to be mapped into those templates first. Amazon exports often leave the image columns blank too, so photo links need to come from another source.

How much does it cost to sell on Temu UK?

Temu does not publish a UK seller fee page that we could find when we checked on 4 October 2026. Your terms are shown in Temu Seller Center, and each payments report shows what you were charged. Treat any single percentage quoted online with caution unless it links to a Temu rate card.

How much of a Temu product title shows in search?

About the first 80 characters, so the start of the title should say what the product is in the words a buyer would search for.

Do I need to be VAT registered to sell on Temu UK?

The UK threshold applies as it does on any channel. You must register if taxable turnover for the last 12 months goes over £90,000, or you expect it to in the next 30 days. What Temu asks for at registration is set out in its own application.
